TEAM SOLITUDE
RACE TEAM
The Solitude Race Team is a season-long competitive ski program for skiers aged 6 to 16. The skilled coaches on our roster are certified by U.S. Ski & Snowboard and Professional Ski Instructors of America, with each one dedicated to fostering well-rounded athletes.
|Solitude Race Team Details
- Participants compete in races from the Youth Ski League to the U16 Championships.
- Participants must be able to ski intermediate (blue) terrain with skidded parallel turns and pole plants.
- Skill assessments take place in early December.
- Participants will compete in U.S. Ski & Snowboard competitions in the region.
- Participants must provide their own travel to competitions.
- Some competitions will require additional fees, which will be billed separately.
- A Utah Olympic Park Season Pass is required when purchasing Utah Olympic Park Supplemental Training.
- A U.S. Ski & Snowboard membership is required and is available for purchase.
- We recommend a minimum of two weekly training sessions.
- Holiday Camp practice is offered for all Race Team participants, regardless of program, on the following days: Monday, December 30; Tuesday, December 31; Thursday, January 2; and Friday, January 3.

DEVO TEAM
The Devo Team is a season-long, ability-based, ski and snowboard program focused on fundamentals for youth ages 6 to 12. Participants gain team experience in a non-competitive format, preparing them for Race, Freeride, and Big Mountain teams. Enrollment is limited, so secure your spot now.

Devo Team Details
- Children are grouped by age and ability.
- Participants must be able to ski or snowboard intermediate (blue) terrain with skidded parallel turns and pole plants.
- Equipment Requirements
- SKIERS
- One pair of all mountain or giant slalom skis at least nose height, owned or seasonal lease (no rentals) in good condition.
- Properly fitted boots in size and flex in good working condition.
- Poles, helmets, and goggles are required.
- SNOWBOARDERS
- One snowboard, roughly neck height, owned or seasonal lease (no rentals), in good condition.
- Proper fitting boots
- Helmet and goggles are required.
- Athletes are expected to participate in 65% or more of the offered training. Make-up days are not offered for any missed training.
- There may be opportunities for Devo team members to participate in local races.

BIG MOUNTAIN TEAM
Big Mountain is a season-long, non-competitive program for skiers and snowboarders aged 10 to 18. Students train toward all-mountain skiing and riding in areas such as off-piste, moguls, steeps, trees, and mountain awareness. Enrollment is limited, so secure your spot now. Big Mountain is ability-based and takes place on recurring dates throughout the season.
|Big Mountain Details
- Skiers and riders must be able to descend expert runs safely. Skiers must be able to carve aggressively in a parallel stance to qualify.
- Athletes are expected to participate in at least three-fourths of the offered training. Make-up days are not offered for any missed training.
- Programming begins the second weekend in December and ends the final weekend in March. Practices are held regardless of weather, road conditions, holidays, or business obligations.

- One pair of all mountain skis, properly tuned and in good condition.
- Properly fitted boots in size and flex in good working condition.
- A helmet, back protector, and poles are required.
- SNOWBOARDERS
- One directional snowboard properly tuned and in good condition.

- A helmet and back protector are required.
- All Participants must purchase an Ikon Pass or Solitude Season Pass (no Ikon Base Passes).

FREERIDE TEAM
The Freeride Team is a season-long, competitive program focused on all-mountain skiing and riding. Athletes ages 8 to 18 train in advanced terrain with our skilled roster of professional, IFSA-certified freeride coaches.
|Solitude Freeride Team Details
- Skiers must be able to make parallel skidded turns consistently on advanced terrain, varying turn shape and size and maintaining speed.
- Snowboarders must be able to link skidded turns consistently on advanced terrain, varying turn shape and size and maintaining speed.
- Freeride Team athletes compete in regional freeskiing & Snowboarding competitions as part of Team Solitude. Competitive participants are required to provide their own transportation to competitions.
- Some competitions require additional fees, which are billed separately.

- An International Freeskier & Snowboarder Association (IFSA) membership is required.
